Emmelshausen

Industry, culture, recreation and conferences

Emmelshausen is just 70 years old and developed into a trading location after the construction of the Hunsrück railway at the start of the 20th century. This is also shown by the three winged helmets on the community’s coat of arms.

Emmelshausen offers a wide range of products nowadays. Everything is available from the smallest bakery to the large discount stores. The ease of access and the large amount of free parking on offer are further plus points. The manufacturing industries are found in the industrial areas of Dörth, Halsenbach and Hellerwald on the A61.

The numerous conference guests reach Emmelshausen on the A 61 as well. Situated in the middle of Rhineland-Palatinate, the town has made a name for itself with state-wide conferences. The Zentrum am Park is recommended for seminars for 30 - 300 persons and, thanks to its well-established all- inclusive services, is almost always fully booked. The surrounding hotels also offer conference rooms for smaller meetings. New in Emmelshausen: the training centre for the state department for roads and traffic in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Culturally, we are not just „at the forefront in Hunsrück". International musicals and German cabaret and theatre shows appear in ZAP. An extraordinary cultural program for a town with 5000 inhabitants offers more than 50 highlights per year.

The proximity to the river valleys are used for tourism and offer a unique triad between the Hunsrück, Rhine and Moselle Rivers. Bicycle tours on the Schinderhannes cycle path or down to the rivers and return transport on the Hunsrück railway or cycle busses as well as walks through the Ehrbach Gorge and Baybach Valley can be part of your holiday activities.
